After failed IVF cycles

When IVF Hasn’t Worked, the Answer Isn’t Always “Try Again”

Sometimes it is “try differently”. Bring us your treatment history and we will review it properly, tell you what we would change and why, and be honest if we would change nothing at all.

Embryologist at the ICSI micromanipulation station

If you have been through one, two or more cycles without a pregnancy, in a public or a private clinic, you already know how heavy the question “do we try again?” feels. Before you answer it, it is worth remembering something easy to lose sight of: you are not starting from zero. Every cycle you have completed carries information: how you responded to stimulation, how many eggs matured, how the embryos developed, and what happened at transfer.

Reading that information carefully, and being willing to change course because of it, is the most valuable thing a new clinic can offer you. That is where we start.

What’s different this time

Five Things We Do Differently

Your history, actually reviewed

Send us your previous cycle notes before you commit to anything. Dr. Sever personally reviews your protocols, your response and your embryo development, and the free consultation is a discussion of your case, not a sales call.

One specialist, all the way

At high-volume clinics it is easy to see a different face at every scan. At Fertina, the specialist who plans your protocol is the one holding the ultrasound probe, adjusting your doses and performing your transfer.

A brand-new laboratory

Embryos are shaped by the lab that grows them. Ours was built new and equipped with the latest incubation and diagnostic technology available in 2026, maintained to ISO 9001 standards by one of Cyprus’s foremost embryologists.

A protocol, not a template

Stimulation tailored to your previous responses, ICSI as standard, embryo glue in the all-inclusive package, and PGD genetic testing of embryos where your history suggests it could help.

Every option on the table

Own-egg, tandem and donor-egg routes are all available under one roof, so the recommendation you get is based on what fits your situation, not on what the clinic happens to offer.

Our promise

We will never talk you into repeating an identical cycle. If we review your history and cannot see anything worth changing, we tell you that, honestly and for free.

A calmer setting

Sometimes a Change of Scenery Is Part of the Change

If your previous cycles were squeezed between work, waiting rooms and traffic, treatment here will feel different. Our clinic is on the seaside in Famagusta: sea air, quiet evenings, nowhere to rush to. You rest between appointments while our chauffeur handles the journeys.

It is not a cure, and we will not pretend otherwise. But patients who arrive carrying years of stress consistently tell us that doing this somewhere calm, away from the old routine, helped them face it.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you really review my previous treatment notes?

Yes, and we would rather you sent them than not. Ask your previous clinic for your treatment summary, share it with the coordinator on WhatsApp or by email, and Dr. Sever will review your protocols and responses before your free consultation.

What could actually be different at another clinic?

More than most people expect: the stimulation protocol and trigger timing, the fertilisation method, how embryos are cultured and selected, whether genetic testing is used, transfer technique and luteal support. There is also an honest human factor: being monitored by the same specialist at every appointment means small course corrections happen when they should.

How many failed cycles are “too many”?

There is no magic number, but there is a sensible rule: something should change between cycles. If you have had two or more similar cycles with a similar result, repeating the same plan unchanged is rarely the right answer. That is when a full review, and possibly a different route such as a tandem or donor cycle, earns its place in the conversation.

Is donor treatment my only option after several failures?

Not necessarily. It depends on why your cycles are likely to have failed, which is exactly what the review is for. Where egg quality is the probable factor, we say so and explain the donor and tandem routes. Where the picture points elsewhere, protocol, lab factors or an untreated issue, we tell you that instead.

How soon after a failed cycle can we try again?

Medically, many patients can begin a new cycle after one to three menstrual cycles, but the right timing is individual and depends on your treatment history and how you are feeling, emotionally as well as physically. We advise honestly; nobody benefits from rushing a cycle you are not ready for.

What will treatment cost this time?

It depends on the route we recommend after the review, which is exactly why you get the price in writing: an itemised quote in euro, within one working day, with no hidden extras. The packages and what each includes are on the packages page.
